It’s been a while, and a while it will always be. Never once in my life have i stayed committed to something that was important to me. I have always looked at something and said “I wish i could do that” and when i get halfway there, I’m done. Maybe it’s the idea that I will change my mind about how I want to look at my future. I must stay focused on what others see me as, other then seeing myself in a different light. I guess it has been a while because last time I spoke up, this is the exact situation I was in, but not anymore.

I stand strong to the belief that no one can live their life through mine. I am me and I am not them, therefore I will live like the me I think I am. This world of pressure and anxiety is not going to rid me of the life I want to live, and no one is going to take the mind of Sam and mold it into their own.

Don’t let people suck you into the thought that if you don’t stand out, if you don’t have a strong voice, or motive; then you’re not going to get anywhere. For some people it takes time to find their voice, to find what make then vibrant. It takes time to look at the world and find what make it beautiful in their own minds. Don’t let only one take that away.

Inspire yourself, that’s what I plan to do. To find what I really wish I could do and do it. I will not back down to any challenge that stand in my way, and I will not know my future, I will not know what decision to make next, but it will be me deciding what I’m going to live for. That is the way it should be.

This new Looper Animation is very, very special.

Zach Johnson (who did these painted posters) worked with Noah Fisher to create a gorgeous animation, by hand painting over 700 frames. The gif above is pulled from it, but you need to see the whole thing. I want every single one of them on my wall. Check it out over at Apple Trailers.

Well, it’s that time of year - no, not Christmas in July - the summer Olympics are once again upon us. Most of us will be talking about sporting events and games that we usually don’t converse about on a daily basis. It’s not everyday that I get fired up about our national Hand Ball team. The one line that I love to hear when the Olympics start is; “It is just great to see all the nations of the world come together like this.” I think that line is such a redirect. The nations of the world didn’t come to London to sip tea, have a biscuit, and share a hug with one another; they came to dynamite in EVERYTHING!!! Each country in the games has veded and processed it’s athletes so that they may bring the best of them to the arena of competition. This is truly a great time of year and we all know it goes by way too fast. Once it’s over…well, can’t wait for the winter Olympics. BRING ON THE CURLING!!!

As a child I wasn’t discouraged to read on my free time, but my lack of enthusiasm that was my dyslexia didn’t help. Since my graduation from mandatory reading, I have found it useful and interesting. I recently read “Abraham Lincoln; Vampire Hunter”, which I read for many reasons, but the more interesting, and less mediocre excuse for a history major like myself, is that I wanted to appreciate the film and how it coincided with the book. I rarely do reviews here on T&M, but this is a special case, indeed.

I always feel out of place when I hear friends and aquaintances say that “the book was SOOOOOOO much better!” I finally experienced what it was like to say that! I felt accomplished and extremely snooty. Besides the fresh and grotesque look of the vampires, (thank God the Twilight series is almost over), and the stunning special effects (which seems to be the norm for any film coming out of Hollywood theses days…so sad) the film was mediocre at best. Like most books that are made into movies, many key components and plot points are left out, but AL;VH, whole chapters, experiences, and characters are amiss. The two things that seem to be in place are the characters names and the dates in which the historical events took place. A majority of the dialogue that was not coming out of Abe’s mouth was flat and stagnant and the whole timeline of the film felt extremely rushed, which did not allow any bond to be formed with the film and it’s audience. Now I know this is not the next Moonrise Kingdom (fantastic film), but the title of the film is already outrageous- give us a little content!

If you’re one for a good read, I suggest you read the book and skip the film, but if you watched the movie and said to yourself, ”man, the book must be really bad,” think again! Turn a page and engage in the text. It’s a fun little twist on one of our founding fathers.
